Native Orchids in the Wild, Scotland

By Ron Smart

As well as being a very active member of the Aberdeenshire Group of the SRGC Ron Smart is the Secretary for the Aberdeen Branch of the Orchid Society. He does not just concentrate on the exotic orchids, which he grows exceptionally well, but also spends a lot of time seeking out the native orchids in Scotland.

The following pictures are only a few of the many species of native orchids Ron has found both in the city and countryside.
