The ebay season begins....... ( includes ikariae/ woronowii comparisons)

glad to see on e-bay another seller,selling the real ikariae!,and reginae-olgae at low start prices.
(and that ikariae is tempting because all I got is always woronowii  )

no I won`t.
I have bought ikariae a few times now but all I get is woronowii so I now buy it only when I see it in flesh.
thought that ikariae flowers more to the end of the season anyway.
there are a lot of desirable galanthus for sale on ebay now but I think I`ll just look and enjoy myself and only buy from the nurseries or enthousiasts.

My Trym is showing its sprouts and Platyphyllus too!

Loes the name "Hollander" is for a small rabbit they breed here in Holland!

I have never seen any snowdrop sold by a rabbit

Howdy All,

While we're discussing them.... can people please post pics of what they grow as ikariae and woronowii please?  I have heard so many different things about them, yet what we have here (as i know I have mentioned before) are totally different to each other.  My ikariae is a much larger, more elongated flower, with darker green leaves.  I can probably rustle up pics of both of mine.  Or should I put this into a separate topic for us to post in?

Paul they are different. The mark is very different also. woronowii is usually a B but can be quite small in size. I havent seen many forms but what I have the mark isnt dark. The mark of ikariae usually takes up 2/3 of the inner. When I get home I'll post some photos but I'm sure in the mean time a serach of SRGC will show some
