I thought you might like them Cliff. I saw them in my sleep and woke to see them shining through my window. Oh no, it was the sun. 8)

It certainly is. I've looked at my original a few minutes ago and there seems to be seed setting there too. It's quite hard to tell until the achenes start to swell up but if there's plenty, would you like to try it?

They are just beautiful, Lesley.  No listing in our 2007/8 Plantfinder though.  Pity.

Paul all plants are looking fine. Yes my division of the variegated hellebore means I have two good pots now.

Thanks but I'm afraid it's most likely hopelessly tender for here.

What is the small bulb exchange?
Göte
the small bulb exchange takes place at the SRGC Discussion weekend each year, after the first lecture, which is traditionally one relating to dwarf bulbs in one way or another. People bring daughter bulbs, or bulbils/rice to swap amongst the donors, then everyone present may buy what's left ( and there is usually quite a lot to choose from) for a small amount per packet.

Brian, bless you, lad, how easily you take a hint!!

The Bulb Despot has been making noises about organising a Forumists' Get together AT a Discussion Weekend, so that we can take advantage of a good crowd of folks to add to our party atmosphere......tack on some extras on the Sunday/Monday, or Thursday/Friday........ it could work, I reckon...... ::) 8)

I'd be interested in one of those Ranunculus if they are coming this way. Are they tuberous?

As a happily retired person, it would make sense to spend more time up North among like-minded folk.  8)

The Ranunculus godleyanus should be hardy as old boots in that it is the highest growing plant recorded in New Zealand, over 9000ft (Mt Cook, our highest, is 12,300 ft approx) though I guess it has good snow cover in winter. It is herbaceous, not bulbous but tends to be evergreen, i.e. not losing its foliage in winter. I'll see what seed sets before making any promises. :)
