How pretty, Mariette - it is  so cold  and wet  here that such sunny pictures are  a  real treat!

Only a few autumn flowering elwesii are visible here  in contrast to 2018 where I had a lot of flowers much earlier.
Is this a general experience?

Thank You, Maggi, Linda and Leena!

Gerd, in my garden several clones of G. elwesii are flowering as usual and some of them more numerous than last year. Sorry, I have no explanation for Your experience this year.

Thank you Mariette! It remains mysterious for me - if the majority will not appear at all
the narcissus fly could be the culprit.

Thatīs what I suspected. They donīt like my heavy clay, thatīs why I have seldom losses in the borders, unlike friends gardening on sandy soil.

Very nice, Tatsuo!  :)

Hereīs  a snowdrop coming from a local front garden, where autumn-flowering G. elwesii self-seeded.

Thank You, Tatsuo! Yes, the leaves are those of a Geranium sanguineum seedling. This species colours usually in autumn, and some selections donīt grow too tall for the small snowdrop behind.

Another autumn - flowering G. elwesii - I wonder whether this should be called var. monostictus or elwesii.

A lovely autumn scene Mariette :)
Here elwesii 'Peter Gatehouse' is reluctant to open much in our dull weather recently.
