My Scilla mauritanica (=Hyacinthoides vicentina) have also leaves above the ground but they are far from flowering. But maybe that was some old pictures ?

Arda:

I grow mine in the cool greenhouse at 40-45 F, spends summers in the basement at 65-70 completely dry.

Usually shows a bud around Sept and then  it gets a good drink and comes into growth.

In the park of our old turfgras - farmhouse Schurigshof in Saxonia -Germany yearly in march flowers thousands of Scilla sibirica. This farm was buildt in 1865 and from this time is the small park also. The blue scillas grow from year to year more blue, we only have to look that the first mowing starts not bevore middle may.
In this park we have found also two red and white old English roses, they smells intensive!

Very nice carpets of blue. :)
Also the white S.rosenii is lovely.
Here are my S.rosenii from last spring. I have two which are slightly different colour, the second one is paler blue than the first one.
