We took a turn round the estate yesterday and noted some new developments since our last visit. A Chinese bridge has been built over the river Lugar and will be opened shortly, presumable by HRH. The bridge was originally designed in 1899 but lack of funding precluded it's building,
Bill and Ben are alive and well but no sign of weed ! School children made the flowerpot men and also have hands on experience of gardening. They come from schools as far away as Glasgow.
The gardener I was speaking to said that they have a great time and are amazed to find out that peas and beans grow in the soil instead of cans !
Also a picture of the 350 year old Sycamore taken earlier in the year. It is now in full leaf..
Looking round the gardens, it seems the ideal place for a rock garden. There are large areas with open aspects and no shading. Anyone with contacts to Prince Charles ?
