I appreciate that, Maggi, but the rules for naming plant cultivars preclude names that are too similar and anyway, the name 'Kath Dryden Early' would imply that it is an early form of the snowdrop named 'Kath Dryden'.  The less personal 'Dryden's Early' might do as an alternative.
Almost in Scotland.

and went on to detail the shows this weekend at which it is being sold - so there seems some urgency in avoiding confusing those buying in good faith.

This coming weekend,11-12 Feb, I will be attending the Winter gardening weekend at RHS garden Harlow Carr in Harrogate. I will be giving a short talk on growing snowdrops each day and will be taking potted snowdrops for sale. A little sneak preview before our main event at the Yorkshire Snowdrop Trail on the 18-19 Feb.

Nice views of Pen-y-Ghent on the way home. Hard to imagine Purple Saxifrage will be flowering on those crags in a few weeks time!

Ecclesgreig Estate Annual Snowdrop Walk
http://www.scotlandsgardens.org/gardens/garden/6b2e0042-24fd-4e4f-8ffb-9a0200ec22e5
Sunday 5th March 2017 1:00 ~ 4:00 pm
I would like to inform you and your members about the above Snowdrop Walk and invite you and your members as individuals to attend. If you can pass on the information to as many members as possible.
The Snowdrop Walk is again opened in conjunction with both the Scottish Snowdrop Festival being run by Visit Scotland and also with the Scotland’s Gardens Scheme.
The Charities we are supporting this year are Scotland’s Garden Scheme, Guide Association (Montrose) and The Scottish Civic Trust and donations will be very much appreciated.
Directions from the A92 Coast Road: Take the road just south of St Cyrus signed to Laurencekirk/Trout Fishery, there will be a yellow National Gardens Scheme sign showing the way, after a mile take the turning on the right, indicated by another yellow National Gardens Scheme sign, continue along this road, at the sharp left hand bend, continue straight ahead into Ecclesgreig Estate.
I hope you can make the Snowdrop Walk and look forward to seeing you on 5th March.
With kind regards
Yours sincerely

I found myself sitting next to Susan Watson this weekend.  She very gently took me to task for suggesting earlier (prior to Maggi's post) that there might be no NGS gardens in Wales opening for snowdrops whereas there is this one.  And she mentioned others.  I imagine you would find at least some snowdrops still out if you were to visit on March 15th.
Almost in Scotland.

Entry FOC to SRGC members (£4.00 to the public).  Jim Jermyn, who recently took over in charge of Branklyn garden,  will be giving a brief talk in the Branklyn House Dining Room on the subject: “Northumberland’s Yellow Snowdrops and their impact in Gardens” at 12.00 noon.

Schneeglöckchentage im Luisenpark, Mannheim (Germany) - Feb. 25 and 26

We are all set for the snowdrop days in Mannheim and greatly look forward to seeing many galanthophiles and plant-lovers at the event.
Excellent news: Joe Sharman will be giving a talk on snowdrops both on Saturday and Sunday at 13.00 on the stage of the big hall.

Paul Barney of Edulis  has arrived safely at Mannhei for the Scheeglockchentage Im Luisenpark  and is all set up - here are a few pix from Paul of the  hall- which I think looks lovely - and you will spot  more than "just" snowdrops and also another well-known snowdrop seller's stand- Avon!
