Forgot to say the 'Norfolk Eye' has been hard at work taking more than 700 photos so will have his work load somewhat added to when we return home.  No doubt some may find their way here later.

General feelings of cheerfulness here today  - The Bulb Despot and I are celebrating 44 years of marriage  - seems incredible since I swear I'm only  27, but hey ho!

Got the dress out of the wardrobe after someone asked about it, David -  but it seems I am even better value, pound for pound (£ for lb)  than I was then for the seven and sixpenny marriage licence - so we made do with admiring it!
Quite proud that it would still be a style that would be pretty today - missing a daughter to wear it, of course .....

The fact that whole life tarriffs are probably illegal has been made by others (thanks Blonde Ingrid and Ian) - luckily Ian has not been able to afford a good lawyer so he's stuck with me!

Kind thanks to all for your good wishes!

Yann, yes, Ian was  partly a bulboholic- but mostly an alpineoholic in those days!

Such a super photo Maggi and Ian and a gorgeous couple. Very best wishes for the last minutes of your day and for many more to come, years I mean, not just days.

My best wishes too to the others in this thread who have had special events to celebrate, the wedding and the engagement. Wonderful that the Forum is so much a FAMILY that we can all share these occasions and feel happiness for those involved.

And Darren, love your paintings, especially the iris of course but the chillis are really "hot" too.

Congratulations! Ah, 1972: I was swanning around Europe, North Africa, Iceland etc with no thought of settling down. Donny Osmond, Alice Cooper and Dr Hook were topping the charts, the Vietnam war was raging, miniskirts were in, and Joni Mitchell and Abba were setting the fashion trends. Who says nostalgia isn't what it used to be.
