Yes Tony, definitely on the right track now. I think it's a bit rude though, offering to buy the tonic and not the gin as well!

Hello, Folks, I'm back! Bit unsteady on the feet, but getting to feel like I could manage a new year's toast to you all... by the way, I prefer lemonade in my gin, for your files.
So, HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL... may the year prove a fine one in every way. I hope your plants are all the healthiest they have ever been and that the health of you, your friends and families is even better!
I look forward to catching up with your guesses... sorry... deductions.. on these pages. ian tells me he has been greatly amused. Not sure if that is a good or a bad sign for you!
Must give thanks to Ian for minding the fort while I was out for the count, also for giving the talk I was scheduled to give to the Aberdeen Group last night. He says he couldn't remember most of the rhododendron names but the audience forgave him! That boy has only bulb vision, for the most part. I well remember the day when he thought more of a rhododendron than just as a place to provide underplanting of erythroniums. Ah, well, such is gardening, i suppose. Now, I must have a look at your efforts; then there is the question of rewards ..Hmm? This'll take some thought.

Glad you are on the mend Maggi - but make sure you don't overdo things.  My friend has had the bug since visiting her parents in Aberdeen over Christmas - thought she was better and came back to work - and is now stuck in bed again!

If I were to enter they would be complete guesses.  I think some forum members have been using complex algorithms to amalgamate all the other correct and incorrect answers!  I think I shall leave this quiz to the mathematically minded.   ;)

What is the prize anyway?  hmmmm, maybe I should enter....

As for prizes - the best one is to have you back winding us up :) :)

John - no algorithms and no analysing other peoples answers here.  The clues were helpful and not just Ian & Maggis ;) otherwise just logic applied ...oh and a couple of lucky guesses :)

By using highly developed algoritms I have concluded this list. (Taking the Goode list) and changed one based on statements from Maggi and knowing myself.
