That's an early one, David. None of mine even approaching flowering yet. Gerd, fantastic flowers!

My narcissus season of this year starts much earlier than last year :) I got some autumn flowering hybrids from a nursery in Japan.
This is the first flowering narcissus in my stock: Narcissus rupicola x serotinus

Welcome back Tatsuo 8)
An interesting cross, given the very different flowering times of the parents.

Tatsuo,
that's a nice looking hybrid! Very interesting that it's flowering in autumn rather than half way between the two parents.
I wonder if Lawrence Trevanion has tried this cross?
Let us know if it's fertile.
cheers

Fine coloured hybrid - very unusual cross! Tatsuo, would you please tell us who made the cross and are there other species combinations.

I'll add 2 pics of my best autumn flowering hybrid - received from a nice Forum member.
Narcissus miniatus x tazetta from Israel. It flowers reliably - it stays compact - the bicoloured flowers are of a good size.

Hello and thank you Ashley ;) Its flower follows the pollen parent N. serotinus as Fermi mentioned.

Fermi, yes I will tell you if this hybrid set seeds :) This hybrid has a slight scent.

Gerd, your autumn narcissus collection is marvellous :o :o :o Especially miniatus x tazetta is so cute :P

I obtained some narcissus hybrids from Komoriya Nursery. You can find some narcissus hybrid pictures here http://item.rakuten.co.jp/komoriya-nursery/c/0000000192/. It seems the owner of the nursery, Mr. KOMORIYA, Satoshi made those hybrids. I think his nursery is famous for its Hippeastrum breeding works.

Very interesting site from Komoriya nursery - so many interesting crosses. Fortunately the names of the hybrids were mentioned in Latin.

A friend just gave me this link to a website which has possibly the most beautiful narcissus photos I've ever seen, especially those of the autumn-flowering species. Well worth a look.
