This morning I got a cheque for £118.82 in full settlement of my "pothole damage claim.
Feeling cheery and as it was a nice day we decided to go to Logan gardens.  Bumbling along towards Ballantrae I noticed a black BMW with blue flashing lights following me.  Result £60 fine and 3 points.  Fair cop, I was doing 76.5mph downhill on a 60 mph stretch !  My first traffic offence in 50 years of driving.  I am still £58.82 up on the deal! .
Logan was still about 3 weeks behind in flowering.  There were drifts of Narcissus in full flower with the Magnolias still flowering along with some scented Rhododendrons - not a combination usually seen.
When I checked my email tonight, I found that we had won a 4 days birding holiday with Heatherlea at Nethy Bridge.  We had filled in the raffle form at the Bird Fair in Edinburgh last Sunday and then forgot about it completely.  I must get a lottery ticket for tomorrow!

Tom I would say you have been extra lucky already - or are you thinking good things come in threes?

How annoying to get a speeding ticket but you cant have it all and you seem to be on a lucky run

No, Sir Jackie Stewart holds that title since Stirling Moss gave up !

I didn't win the lottery last night, however, I did get ONE number correct.   I think I should get a prize for consistently failing to get any correct numbers at all.  My one and only win was about 20 years ago when I got £10.  I think I probably funded half the Olympic stadium with my selfless charitable contributions !

We had a visitor today. Sorry for the pic quality but it was taken a half a mile from the plane.

Good grief, Michael- that's a big visitor! Is it an Antonov 225?

I expect you had to be that far away to fit it all in the frame!

What was the reason for it coming to Ireland?

I have no idea, maybe it is just stopping over on route to somewhere else and as we have the longest runway in europe it would no trouble landing. We get some big ones occasionally for that reason. They won't give us any information until it is gone, you know the usual security stuff.

No fear of us seeing a big bird like that here- Aberdeen can just about manage a Boeing 747 or 767  :-X :-\

It seems to take forever to breath in and then I was wondering if it would ever get up the speed to take off. certainly impressive. I love the extra wheels!
