Will let you know Brian - only ordered it this morning    This may sound ignorant but do people from the Netherlands understand German?  If so, I could post my German version to a cyber friend of mine who loves snowdrops and is quite ill at the moment.

Jennie,
Most people in the Netherlands can read and understand  German but it still is quite different from Dutch.
For example,I have the German version of this book and was happy with it but my English is better than my German so I bought the English version too.
Having said that I still think it would be a very nice gift for your friend.
