Blue flowered plant in the Pyrenees
« on: October 12, 2009, 04:48:42 AM »
We found this lovely blue-flowered low growing plant at about 2400 m on a limestone fellfield near Cerler in the Spanish Pyrenees.  I assumed that it was a Veronica nummularia based on the leaves but the flower is not a typical Veronica flower.  Does anyone know if it is indeed Veronica nummularia?

Thanks guys.  That was fast.

It may be a bit short for Polygala calcarea.  I assume Polygala alpina is a possibility?

David, as I understand things, P. calcarea is the more likely in the situation you describe. In the wild , plants are usually smaller in all their parts.
