Standard Salix
« on: March 29, 2019, 05:14:09 PM »
hi, my parents have this in their new garden. It was identified as a neighbour as Salix "Firecracker" which might be a form of S. alba - but I'm thinking it might be a form of S. integra?

Unfortunately the instructions for S.alba is brutal pollarding - I think this thing requires something gentler?

Forumist Chris Parsons  may be able to help with this one.
Failing that, Michael Dodge, who hasn't  been around here lately but  who runs a willow  nursery in  Vermeont,   willowmanvt@me.com  would be  my  next port of  call.  ( www.willowsvermont.com )
