Ger
My trade contacts keep coming back with LBS. The pots are actually 8.5cm at the top, tapering down to 6cm at the bottom and they are 13cm tall. The pots that I have in the shed are the same dimension.
One is manufactured by 'Fancy Plastic Products' and has a telephone number - either 021 565 2000 or it might be 021 565 2060. In spite of the name this is a good, solid pot.
The other pot is manufactured by 'Glenco' (no 'e' on the end).
I have googled both but not found either.
Hope this helps a little.

Ger, deep 6x6 pots seem to be very hard to find - Kakteen Schwarz in Germany offers 7x7x11 and 7x7x18 - perhaps when you ask they could also offer those you need. ::)

Tony Dickerson (Westonbirt Plants) uses these "Glenco" pots. There is a plastics company Glenco products Ltd, listed in various business listings at Blackall Industrial Estate, Chelmsford, CM3
living near Stranraer, Scotland. Gardening in the West of Scotland.

I may be able to offer some info.

Glenco pots are now part of Desch Plantpak and have been for a number of years.

Fancy Plastics Products were (are?) a plastic coat hanger manufacturer who branched out into making plant pots.  I believe (but not 100% sure) that they are now called Aeroplas.

Hope this helps.

Jon Evans has used and suggests this supplier :

http://www.greenshorticulture.co.uk/categories/Pots-&-Trays/Square-Pots/Smaller-Square-Pots/

- they have the distinct benefit of supplying smaller quantities so no need for dozens of friends to get together to make up an order of thousands.

When I was looking for 7x7x8 pots last year I found these folks very helpful
http://www.dejex.co.uk
You do need to ring or Email them though as their Website is not interactive.

Hmm. don't think anyone has yet cracked the problem of *deep* (height twice width) small pots at a reasonable price in the UK.

These from Jon's suggested supplier are pretty close though, David:

I have some 6x6x12.6 pots. However they came from Australia. They are used there for Eucalyptus trees I believe. They were very cheap to buy, but horrendously expensive in terms of posting and Import duty.
How many does Ger want?
I also have some slightly smaller ones which are 5.5 by 5.5 by 12.5 too.

True Maggi, now you've made me think, they're heading in the right direction.

Palustris - this is an old thread, Ger seems to have been involved in 2010.

Some weeks ago I ordered higher plastic pots from the German company Hermann Meyer.  www.hermann-meyer.de
They offered two types pots for example:
7 x 7 x 14 cm, price VAT included with free home delivery is  355,00 € per 1.000 pieces
9 x 9 x 13 cm  price VAT included with free home delivery is  350,00 € per 1.000 pieces
The  minimum purchase for these two typs is 1.000.
The pots, I ordered 1.000 p.  9 x 9 x 13 cm came from Italy, the name of the company
is Bama Plast.
To have 1.000 pots is not bad, because sometimes you need a gift for a friend.

For some extremely deep pots, look here:  http://www.srgc.net/forum/index.php?topic=184.msg197393#msg197393

I don't know if you can get them in Europe.  Tropaeolum polyphyllum grows very well in these.

A new source for  deep pots - these are 10 x10 x17 - giving a 1.4l pot. Recommended  by a successful snowdrop grower - see here : http://www.srgc.net/forum/index.php?topic=16463.0
