Toronto Pearson International Airport temperature today was a record breaking 16C.  After rains and winds through last night and todays balmy temps there is hardly any snow left!
I hate to say it but we need more snow cover!

I totally agree. We need back the snow! My trays with sowings are totally exposed, and I noticed today signs of growth on Stylophorum, Anemone and Corydalis nobilis!
If the next arctic air arrives before the snow, they will be added to the casualties.

Why don't you just bring them inside and continue to grow the seedlings under lights? Yes, it's a bit of a bother but maybe beats losing them entirely when your normal cold temps return.

Those are trays with seeds like Gentiana (a lot this year!), Saxifraga and so on...best stratification is done outside here, as you very well know  I want them to start germinating outside in a 'normal' way. I never had good results with Gentiana under lights.
Inside the lights are fired up, but for warm germinators (and other 'emergencies').
