Viola yezoensis f.discolor
« on: April 19, 2012, 08:06:30 PM »
Hi,

I search seeds of Viola yezoensis f.discolor, I've never found it in the European nurseries I know but I'd realy like to have it (I'm fond of its purple foliage)
So if you have seeds or know where to buy it (worldwide) or even plants (Europe), please tell me.

And for those who don't know this plant

(English isn't my first language so forgive me if there are some mistakes)

Hi Max,
Also a warm welcome from me!
The website is superb - the species mentioned too. Unfortunately I donīt know a source.
Some years ago I had some Japanese contacts with violet lovers and received seeds of the plant.
It wasnīt hardy here in my USDA zone 7 b.
Sorry for being not of much help to you - perhaps a Japanese Forum member is able to give a contact.

Welcome Max.  That's a pretty one, isn't it.  Not one I've ever heard of before, although I can understand why you are wanting it.  It's a beauty. 8)
Cheers.

Min winter temp -8 or -9°C. Max summer temp 40°C. Thankfully, maybe once or twice a year only.

Another warm welcome Max. I hope you can find a source for your little viola. It's very pretty.
