Tulipa ID
« on: November 23, 2010, 12:26:37 PM »
I'd like to learn what species this tulip is. Picture is probably taken in the wilds of East or Southeast Turkey.
Can it be tulipa montana?
Thanks.

Arda,

for the first look I agree with you that this is T. montana. But the leaves are too small for this species.
Hope some of the tulipmasters can recognize the species.

I think it looks like Tulipa sprengeri.

Not Tulipa sprengeri. Perhaps T. wilsonii or some closely related species.

Rodger,

T. wilsonii is a synonym of T. montana.
