Cypripedium calceolus in the wild
« on: May 31, 2010, 07:20:07 PM »
Sid, Brian and I have visited some Cypripedium calceolus near my house. It was a wonderful day.
The flowers are so different.

Wonderful variation in these cyps as there are in your primula photos, Hans....how valuable it is to see the range of variation there is in the wild, even in one area... fascinating! Thank you!

Truely beautiful pictures, Hans. There's a very small population in Denmark, but it is fantastic to see it growing in such large numbers. Thakns for posting.

Beautyfull Johannes.
Today I was invited to a place in northern Bavaria (Franken) There I saw my first yellow  one
There were thousands this day in three different places, much variations, but only one true yellow.

I love Franken, having stayed a couple of times in Forchheim and once in Muggendorf.
