He lectures widely in Europe, Canada and the USA. He has written two books for Timber Press: The Himalayan Garden, Growing Plants from the Roof of the World and Alpine Plants of Europe – A Gardener’s Guide. As Property Manager at Branklyn, Jim, has introduced over 200 varieties of snowdrop, which have been planted in the garden over the last few years, among swarms of the common snowdrop, Galanthus nivalis.

Yemen, what a country ... Haraz mountains, Socotra, Sana'a, Hadramaut, the empty quarter.... a country of stunning, mind altering beauty...and the friendliest of people.

Jim came down to Threave this evening and gave this talk to SW Scotland Rock garden group. An excellent talk,  most entertaining and informative, with superb photos too.  I must go back and visit Branklyn again soon.
