Eranthis Pinnatifida (2019)
« on: December 24, 2019, 01:01:01 PM »
Help please? I have a prob with my Eranthis Pinnatifida.  The petals browned before it blooms.  Indoors, 17-20°C (62-68 ℉), lighting approx. 200 lux, full pumice, occasional watering just not to dry out tuber. This is my first time growing winter aconite in the tropics.  Has anyone any similar encounter? What could have gone wrong? Many thanks in advance for your advice.

Welcome to the  Forum!  I believe the  temperature  you  are  keeping the  Eranthis  is  far too hot. Simple  prevention from the  tuber  freezing  is  sufficient.

Thank you very much for allowing me in the forum and am grateful for your advice! So it means I have to further lower the temperature for the bulbs? Will about 10°C do? Thank you.

10 degrees C is  still too warm - 5 degrees  is  better for these  winter  growing  plants.

For your reference, the climate data of their native site.
Probably you've already known Eranthis pinnatifida is a temperate undergrowth of deciduous woods in mountainous area.
Good luck!
