Darjeeling
« on: August 25, 2014, 11:15:59 AM »
One of our regular advertisers, Himalayan Gardens Ltd is based in the small town of Kalimpong, Darjeeling but grow and ship from Angus, Scotland. My contact Satyam Pradhan (Satty) has recently sent me some images which I thought should have a far wider audience.

Satty writes: "Our wee town Kalimpong in Darjeeling is very closely associated with Scotland and owes much of its development to the Scottish missionaries who so kindly In the 1800's came to out area and set up schools and educated the entire region. We all went to this school that is just five minutes walk from my Parents home http://www.drgrahamshomes.net/history-of-homes.php . There are lots of other schools by Scottish missionaries too. This was also one of our main reasons that we wanted to start something in Scotland as there has always been this special bond with Scotland for over a century."

Enjoy.
