Dwarf Shrubs still doing well
« on: May 21, 2013, 07:53:00 PM »
In the Rock Garden number 126 Brian wrote an article about dwarf shrubs and I submitted the pictures.

I thought you might like to see how some of them were getting on despite two very harsh winters and a very funny ::) season regarding flowering times.

Berberis stenophylla corallina compacta now in the garden and 60cm high by 45cm wide simply couldn't be any better.

Leiophyllum buxifolium hugeri has just started to open its buds and is now at about the maximum size to allow it to be carried to the showbench.

xPhylliopsis 'Sugar Plum' is still making its appearance at shows.

Two Phyllodoce are not very large as yet, Phyllodoce caerulea only flowered on one side this year, must do better.

Phyllodoce nipponica is a pretty little thing but rather too ethereal for the showbench not enough oomph.

Finally one that didn't manke the article but which is making a nice plant is Rosenia humilis from South Africa it's lovely yellow daisies are a real tonic.

A timely update, S and B - and good to see that the featured plants are still doing well.
