Would anyone like seeds of Clematis macropetala 'Purple Spider?
-
that's a new cultivar name to me, Mark... where DO you find all this stuff?!! ???
-
sounds like a cool name for a Clem. What's it like?
-
for this one the famous Murphy and Woods in Dublin. I'll call at any garden when out and about because you just dont know what you'll find. Like the one near me selling the contorted small Larch and other specials like Abies koreana 'Silver Pearl'.
I was in one today that had lots of Crocus speciosus and kotschyanus for sale. I wanted to see if any of the latter were flowering. What a surprise today lots of Crocus ochroleucos mixed in. I bought them all!! Actually because I had bought some mini Cyclamen I got them free.
Here is macropetala 'Purple Spider'

Here's my C. a. 'Frankie' quite similar to Purple Spider, but not as deep purple.

So how much darker is it than 'Maidwell Hall', and do we have any idea what the seedlings will end up like? ???
