Title: AGS Kent Show
Post by: KentGardener on September 29, 2012, 03:11:23 PM
Hi All

Just back from my volunteer stint on the AGS plant sales stand at the local show.  A few quick pics I took between serving customers and eating bacon rolls.   ;D

1 - General view
2 - General view
3 - A fine selection of silver plants
4 - Pyrethrum leontopodium.  A lovely pot of silvery fluffy stuff.  To me it looked like mist or fog engulfing a frosty morning.
5 - Centaurea clementei
6 - Cyclamen graecum ssp anatolicum.  A stunning plant that attracted my attention as soon as I saw it.  The edges of the flowers were almost glowing in the early morning sun.  It ended up earning the Farrer medal for best in show.
7 - another pic of that Cyclamen graecum ssp anatolicum as it looked so lovely.
8 - Another great Cylcamen graecum ssp anatolicum (both were sown 5/10/1998)

A few more pics of things that caught my eye.  I am sure the Luc's from Belgium will have some better photos in the next day or two.

1 - Lewisia cotyledon 'Ashwood Strain'
2 - Lewisia cotyledon hybrid
3 - Colchicum speciosum alba.  These 4 flowers were looking absolutely beautiful.
4 - Dionysia hyrbid 'Selene'
5 - Sternbergia sicula
6 - Oxalis speciosa
7 - Crocus banaticus (sown 22/12/2002)
8 - My mum would have loved this.

This must have been a great day. Lovely pictures. I like the grey leaved ones very much.
Thank you for sharing with us.

Lina.

Should I stop growing plants on the nursery and grow them to display! Somehow I missed seeing quite a few of these plants John and the little flower arrangement is quite delightful. Great to get so much support from across the Channel - anyone with more people I should contact for the Spring Show please let me know.
