Years ago I had a form of D. purpurea called 'Heywood' or 'Heywoodii.' It was a very delicate combo of soft lemon and palest pink and very pretty. Not long lived, and unfortunately the seedlings lent very much towards straight purpurea.
-
It's probably Digitalis purpurea 'heywoodii' Lesley Cox ?
Very beautiful plant was digitalis !
You know that i have make an watercolor of a botanical drawing (Planche Botanique in French)

I collected last week D. parviflora in Asturias. And also I could collect D. thapsi in my village.
-
Would you be interested in D. 'Red Skin'?I have collected some seeds this year.I am also very fond of the Digitalis family.
Kind regards Lotte
-
Thank you Lotte, I don't grow cultivars and artificial hybrids, I am only interested in pure species collected in the wild. But don't worry, if you haven't anything to exchange It is a gift.
All the best,
rafa

I LOVE Digitalis, put have to give up. The summer is so hot, dry and long, they cannot survive :'(
-
Hello Arykana ;D ;)
In Ardennes (France) the winter is hard (-22°C this year) but we have good precipitions and not too hot climate (Max 37°C somes days per years) .
My garden was very Green all the time! But not Mediterraneans plants , because difficult to survive .
What's species have you in your garden ?
-
I had Digitalis purpurea, the only type I can get here.
We have a winter temperature around -5-8, but every year has a hard 14-20 days, the temperature goes down to -15-20. Summer time is around 30-38-39, but the last weeks of July and the first 2 weeks in August is mostly over 40 Celsius. More problem, we had no rain all summer long
