I've been transferring some old files from a previous laptop and found this picture. It's not growing in UK as it is an old scan from a slide, and this was before our return to UK. I am hoping someone out there can put a name to it please. I'm afraid I have no information to assist with the ID :-[ :-[

Quite difficult to tell the species from this photo, i think it is probably Dillenia alata.

Thank you very much Oron. :) Certainly looks like a Dillenia. It won't be D.alata though unless this grows outside of Australia also, as we've never been there.
I've just been searching and am now ( thanks again Oron ) thinking it Dillenia excelsa. ;D

Ron,
D. excelsa was my first thought too, but the leaves look different [Veins are more profound then the ones you have shown].
D. alata distribution is also out of Australia, [Malaysia etc.]
Well at least we have the genus name, as there are 59 species out there..

Thanks to you Oron. I never thought we'd get this far given the poor picture. We think now that it was probably taken in Borneo( Sabah or Sarawak we're not sure). Genus is good enough for me on this one.
