Title: What is interesting for the amateur-botanist in the mountains near Kemer?
Post by: Natalia on August 13, 2012, 12:05:26 PM
 PLEASE HELP!  :)

My friend, a keen florist as many of forumists, rides in Kemer, Turkey.
Colleagues tell me that it is possible in these places to look now?  ???
He's going to take a car.

She would be grateful for any clues about the interesting botanical places.

I have only visited Kemer mid October, whe you can see several Crocus, Galanthus peshmenii and several Colchicum to name but a few.

I am asking a friend who has visited Turkey many more times than I have if ahe knows what mght be seen now,

Regards

Arthur

Arthur, thank you.
Maybe your friend will tell :)
If it were possible - it would go in September and October, but the timing does not depend on it.

September is too early and late October would be best.

At that time near Kemer are Galanthus peshmenii, Cyclamen graecum,Crocus wattiorum and cancellatus Colchicum vaerigatum

If they go further East and up to Akseki, a long day but manageable there is also Cyclamen cilicicum,Crocus asumaniae, Biarum pyrami.

A long day west and it would be possible to find Crocus mathewii.
