-
Its beautiful Rafa....

Stunning iris Rafa, will you be collecting seed from it? ;D
-
Beautiful Rafa !
I have some seedlings.. very young ;D
-
I would like to collect this year, it take 2 moths to set seeds. In my notes, it is ready October the first.
Fred, next season they should bloom?
-
Well worth waiting for Rafa.
-
Beautifull Raffa!
My seedlings might flower next year (I hope). are there different colour forms?
-
yes, there are a colour range, dark to pale blue. It is an interesting iris for summer.
-
Your last beautiful iris just when the arils are starting to bloom.
-
Pat, I think when "teletransportation" will be ready it will be very useful to us to have two opportunities per year to see Narcissus and Iris blooms by changing the hemisphere ;D
-
Sounds good to me.
-
That is a real beauty Rafa and a peculiar flowering time...
Can you tell at what elevations it grow and does it receive summer rains?
-
Just beautiful! :o
-
This species is very hardy, the place I use to collect is mountain range arround 1000m, limestone. The temperatures could be during winter -10º and 35º or even more 40ºC. Watering from October to June and then very few. It has british punctuality blooming: August the First, and seeds October the first. I think this year I will collect some seeds...
It could have 1, 2, 3 (maybe more in old bulbs) consecutive flowers per bulb, like Iris xiphium...
-
Rafa sounds like an iris species that might be happy here.
