I thought this was an Allium but it doesn't smell like one. What is it? In flower now!
-
Look like Triteleia hyacinthina. :)

Really! I've struggled to grow Tritelieas for years and then one magically appears where I haven't planted it! Does this species normally flower in summer?

They do tend to flower late compared to earlier spring blooming Alliums. However, I noticed on Facebook plant postings and posts by northern European forumists on SRGC/NARGS, that their season is very late, and I'm seeing images of plants like Allium flavum in bloom, which are long since past bloom here. So, yes, it is possible that this "trit" is blooming now.

How strange that we are at the same stage as you in Normandy - pulchellum also just emerging! We've had a cold summer too with hardly a day above 20C!
