Post by: cycnich on June 23, 2012, 05:03:39 PM: Just back from holiday in Greece staying in Sivota. From here we spent a few days in Zagoria close to the Vikos gorge. I would like to share a few pictures of this stunning landscape

The diversity of Greece never ceases to amaze me even after 25 years but the one thing that is consistant are its people, they are the friendliest and most welcoming nation, even now with the situation they are in and I cannot wait till I can return again.

475/491 Anacamptis (orchis) morio greenwinged orchid
480 Orchis lactea Milky orchid
479 Orchis ustulata burnt tip
484 Ophrys helenae
483 Ophrys scolopax
p.s. I'm by nature a lumper so some of these might be debatable, especially the greenwinged and the ophrys, but at least I'll start the ball rolling

Look at my photos on Lincolnshire rarieties thred in Pleione and orchidaceae section of the forum. Looks very similar to me and we don't have tridentata in Lincolnshire (or the U.K. for that matter). Wish we did!

I was suprised to see both the orchids and the Ramonda in fower this late but the altitude which was around 1300mts would probally have a bearing on this.
