Just back from another wonderful Southport AGS Show ... hearty congratulations and many thanks to Roger Beecham and his tremendous team for a superb day. The benches were filled with delightful plants and the Farrer Medal was scooped (once again) by prolific winner, Geoff Rollinson from Holmfirth, West Yorkshire with a stunning Dionysia involucrata alba. Both pictured.

Was a good show too!. See. Cliff, I told you that you would be first to put up some images!

A Southport trio ...

Some more images from Southport AGS Show yesterday ... better organised photographers than I will post images with plant and exhibitor names ...
-
... And a few more ... the garden is calling.

One of the delights that fascinated me at Southport. Brian Burrow's beautiful little Jurinea humilis from Spain.

I've managed to post my pictures from Southport on the AGS website but, unfortunately, as last week, that nasty work thing is getting in the way an dtime has run out...I need to go and pack a case now. If your keen they can be found here

Were any forumists at the AGS Dorset Show on the 26th? Was it a good show?
-
Too far for me, I've been asking myself the same questions.
-
Yes, it is a long way... they grow oranges and olives alongside their grapevines down there, do they not? ;)

Jon Evans has posted lots of photos on the AGS website from Dorset Show on the 26th ....

Seems several Forumists were showing some super plants... and there were some plants of impeccable Aberdeen lineage : x Ramberlea Inchgarth - raised in Aberdeen by Maureen and the late Brian Wilson.
Very exciting to see the Farrer medal plant.... surely one of the biggest, most gorgeous campanulas seen on a show bench, from Lee and Julie Martin : Campanula sp. MELJ200944 aff andrewsii
Jon writes "This is the same plant which got a Certificate of Merit at Malvern when not fully out. Lee and Julie Martin had kept it in the shade for two weeks, and it was certainly fully out now; no-one walking into the hall could doubt that it would win the Farrer, and it did. What a wonderful collection from Melvyn Jope, in some very capable hands."
Can't say fairer than that, eh?!!
