Title: Draba yunnanensis?
Post by: Kristl Walek on April 19, 2012, 09:44:21 PM
Is it, or isn't it?

My memory aint what it used be...and neither are my grown-from-seed lists

Foliage is very grey & congested.
It is blooming now (but everything is about a month ahead of time).

I agree this is a lovely little draba, although it  doesn't really fit the description of D. yunnanesis.  Your plant is much better and tighter than true D. yunnanesis.  Not sure what species it actually is, and I can see from checking the web, this short nearly stemless plant is going around as yunnanensis.

Check out Harry Jans web site:

In Flora of China it looks to have taller stems, based on the line drawing and the description.

I also posted this on my Facebook and yesterday a Czech grower contacted me, fairly certain that the plant is D. rosularis.
I have not had a chance to look at this possibility closer.

I used to have D. rosularis many years ago and now you mention it, it does look pretty much like that.
