Anyone put a name to this please? I wish labels would not disappear. TIA.

Eric, certainly S. x edithae but maybe not Bridget. There are a number of plants masquerading as Bridget about. I grew and showed one for many years, until one year it met Christ Lilley's plant, and they were clearly different. All sorts of sax. experts had their say and the conclusion was that my plant was Karel Stivin, and Chris's plant was Bridget.
On that basis, yours looks very like Karel Stivin.

 I wasn't sure that I knew the Karel Stiven cultivar... went for an internet search... .came up with this pic from Eric at an AGS Solihull show... so perhaps you saw that plant and  photographed it because you had also bought one, Eric?

Well I am not going to argue with the experts I will go for x edithae Bridget. As I say I do not remember buying it, but it may well have come as an unnamed cultivar from the members stall. If it ever stops snowing I will go and take a closer look at the flowers. Certainly looks as if there is S. strybrinyi blood in it though.

Not so good this year, i'm afraid Maggi, it is flowering at the moment, but frankly looks a mess, (even before last night's horizontal sleet). The show life of that plant is probably over; it is outgrowing a 36cm plastic pot) and it is time to retire to the garden. A small plant (cutting from the other one) was at Hexham on Saturday - but the judges gave it the wrong colour sticker. This year, like most, I collect seconds.

It certainly looks like 'Bridget' to me, one I've had many years but of course so many we have in NZ are wrongly named anyway. And nothing to compare them with. :'(
