Post by: Michael J Campbell on March 30, 2012, 11:58:22 AM
Here is a pic of the first flowering from seed I got from Madeira of a Clivia miniata hyb, also the normal Clivia miniata. I don't seem to have a record of who sent me the seed.

Hans,

Interesting colour change.  I have gardenii here, but I've not yet flowered it (grown from seed, but not co-operating with a flower yet!).  I hope it is as nice.  Clivia x cyrtanthiflora flowered earlier this year and has set seed, which it has never done before.  I'm not sure I actually realised it was fertile until now. :-\

Angelo,

That's a great yellow.

here is flowering for the first time a Clivia X cyrthantiflora ( maybe a cross between C.gardenii x C.miniata )

I have bought this plant in year 2007 via eb** ....the seller sold it as Clivia "Romantic Lantern" ....I have never believed that my plant is really a Rudo Lotter breeding because they are not aviable in Germany and this plants are very expensiv.
I'm fully satisfied with my plant  :D

Hans:

I searched back through some old emails - it's Rudo Lotter's "Moondrops", which his website says is:
F2 Gardenii x Yellow Miniata, yellow interspecific hybrid, semi pendulous.

I have some yellow/ orange gardenii if you want Hans? a friend imported seeds through the Clivia society but she got mixed up who sent her which seeds. I think most of the seeds came from South Africa though... She gave me the plants years ago.
