Mountain peaks are allready white and snow is coming lower and lower. Here are few photos taken in Julian Alps 1600m above see level (13.10.2007). As you see some plants are late and others too early. Of course these are only exceptions.

Good to think of these flowers at the end of the season, Matic. Great pictures... Rhodothamnus chamaecistus is one of my favourites, with the Rhododendron hirsutum.

The Rhodothamnus is in its spring colours in NZ at present, see Trillium Weekend at Methven 2007 - well maybe tomorrow.

Where were they taken in Julian Alps ???

Photos were taken in mountains Lepoca and Trebisca. Around 30 km east of Kanin near village Trenta (river Soca valley).
