Title: climbing rose question
Post by: mark smyth on March 09, 2012, 11:10:56 AM
In December high winds blew my rose Zephirine Drouhin off the wall. It brought the trellis with it. Very lazy I know but I have only recently but wires on the wall to put the rose back in place.

The rose is growing again. The new growths are on the upper side of the fallen branches but when I put them on the wall the growths face the wall. Should I just snap them off to force other buds to break?

I would be tempted to leave them as they are, Mark ... other buds will now break on the 'sunny' aspect and you will therefore gain fuller foliage and potentially a more prolific flowering?
