Title: Jogging the memory of SRGC Members
Post by: ChrisB on March 06, 2012, 07:21:26 PM
Have you forgotten?

Annual memberships were due to be paid by 1st October 2012.
Did you forget to pay by any chance?
A final reminder would have been included in your mailing along with a membership card.  I’d hate to see folks missing out on the next journal and the seed exchange.
If you are not sure, please feel free to email me about it.

And thanks for supporting our amazing club!

My 5 year sub runs out in 2013. I take it from your notes that the 5 year is no longer available?

There is a 3 year option available at the moment, Lesley.  Not sure whether this will continue or  not.

Goodness I hope so Maggi, I am well known for forgetting to pay subs so the three year option means I am only likely to forget once every three years 8)

Christine is the one to tell us more, Brian.... but I think a Direct Debit is what we do to get round the problem of forgetting......saves any embarrassing mistakes!

Direct Debit is available to anyone with a UK bank account.  Three year memberships are available for all.

Yes but DD not available to overseas members without a UK account. I usually forget too Brian and usually remember just as the seedlist is about to come out, and pay in a rush in case I miss the seedlist. ???

A renewal request comes with the summer journal, but if it would help, and if I have relevant emails, I could ask our dear Graham if he would write me a little programme to send a group email to those who have not yet renewed at the end of September perhaps.  Would that help Lesley?  I have been thinking about this some but havn't yet got my head around it, never mind asking Graham for this help.

Dear Chris, Yes it would help but what would be best would be for me to take some responsibility for my own requirement to do things on time. I am the quinessential procrastinator. I shouldn't put MY inadequacies on to YOUR shoulders. I've already, in fact, since the last couple of posts, put heavy markings on all the calendars in the house, for Sept, to pay AGS this year, and a reminder at the end of this year's diary to write the same reminder on the calendar for SRGC in Sept NEXT year.

Of course technically-minded people have such things on their cellphones but mine is strictly for calls and messages. It is not my friend.

My membership runs out October this year.  While I think of it, can I renew for 3 years now, or should I wait until October to do it again?

Hi Paul,

You can renew now or later, either way from my point of view.  If you renew for three years, those three years will start at the beginning of October 2012 so you will be good until 2015.
