Just now I uploaded 70+ new photos to my web site. Don't look now
I have to edit the gallery listing. I have very poor internet just now so it may take a while.
There have been lots of photos appearing on the forum that I can use. Can I lift what I need and credit you, the forum member, without asking permission for each photo?

I am sure I haven't posted anything you don't already have (maybe 'Potter's Prelude') but you are welcome to use my photos with credit. Carolyn

thanks :-*

I haven't posted any good photos so far this year but you can have a blanket permission Mark (anyone else, please ask first). Just please correct the name of "Bill Clark" in your gallery.
-
It'll be changed with my new update.
Also slowing me down is sudden blue screen of death and sudden freezing

Good point Alan, didn't think of that. Anyone else who wants to use my photos, such as they are, please ask first. Thanks.

Mark, I hope you have everything backed up. If your computer is very old, you may be getting problems with the hard drive rather than the operating system.
-
Martin I have a 1TB external hard drive but was thinking of getting another as back up

Try a System Restore to a time before your problems arose.
and sudden freezing
Check you didn't leave the front door open.
-
I was assuming you'd already tried system restore, Mark. Obviously that's your first port of call, but if you're still getting blue screens then it may be the hard drive. Do you have a facility on your computer (or a disc) to do a clean re-install of the operating system? You could try that, then re-install your programmes. But it might still be the hard disk.

Perfect! I love a good lo-tech solution :D
-
Mark - welcome to use any of mine - not that I have posted many, but you did ask about Hugh Mackensie last year. Go ahead and use whatever you wish

Make sense that Mark...
Esp if you take images in raw format...they can be large files...

if you're still getting blue screens then it may be the hard drive.
If it's because your hard drive is failing then there is no point in doing a factory settings reset. Replace the hard drive, clone the old one to the new one and run chkdsk to try to fix the disk errors. Do a factory settings reset with the new hard drive if this fails but be aware in most instances that wipes all your files, photos etc.
If you can still move the mouse pointer around for a while as the computer starts to freeze then it may well be your hard drive. If everything on the display suddenly freezes then it may well be your graphics adaptor.
For more clues, right click (My) Computer and select Properties. Click the Advanced tab in the Window that appears (or Click Advanced System Settings), then click the Settings button in the Startup and Recovery section and, if necessary, remove the tick from the box that says Automatically Restart on System Failure. Then next time you get a BSOD send me a PM telling me what it says on the blue screen and I'll try to diagnose it for you.

thanks Alan.

Didn't I say "don't look now"? 159 people did and 125 of them via this forum
70 looked at Bill Clark
60 looked at Wendy's Gold
For some reason 33 looked at EA Bowles and 10 at Brian Spence. Checking what's on Ebay no doubt

A few lurkers have told me to hurry up with the update which is a year late - sorry.
I'm off sick with Norovirus which isn't very nice and a pain in the a$$ - pun intended - and it's given me a chance to work on the update.
I haven't checked for mistakes but will do so tomorrow. Bill Clark is fixed.

Mark ,
I have just looked at your galanthusgallery ....I'm a bit surprised about Galanthus "Trojan"
http://www.snowdropinfo.com/galanthus%20trojan.html
My first question is to the name ....do you mean Gal. trojanus ?
Why you write "Trojan" ?
or is this a other Galanthus ?
My second question is to your picture ....it looks very different to the pic in the Snowdrop book from Bishop/Grimsaw,Davis ( page 56 )and the same difference is to the drawning on page 3
Do you have more pictures from this plant ?
Thank you in advance
Hans
-
Hans this is called Trojan and not related to G. trojanus
-
Thank you Mark ,
Do you know a bit more ?
finder ?
breeder ?
who has this plant named ?
-
Just wondered Mark, are you going to re-name 'em all Ruby Baker? :P

I need to lose weight but even I would not like to suffer as Mark is surely suffering now.
