Anyone put a name to this Tulip? I think it is an aberrant form myself. TIA.
-
Hi,
it could be a parrot tulip, they sometimes flop like that.

Thanks Maren. The only thing that puzzles me (well not the ONLY thing) is that it is flowering now and Parrot forms of Tulips usually do not flower until May. Also it is a bit on the short side for one of them.

That is perfectly true, Palustris. I usually have them in flower for my birthday on the 22nd. Could be the odd weather we've been having???

Personally I reckon it is a malformed T. fosteriana.

From what I can see in your picture, I have the same kind of Tulips. I got them for I think 10 years ago by my son's father in law. I have no idea what kind it is. When the flower will begin to unfold, it sometimes happens that it breaks.
Initially I had 15 pieces, but now it's only a few left
