This was bought as 'Paddy's Ketton'. No relation to Paddy Tobin. It's obviously nothing like Ketton. Does anyone know it or grow it?
-
Wouldn't Sue Tindall of Timpany Nurseries be the best person to ask - I am assuming of course that you bought it from her via her 2011 or 2012 catalogue?
-
Looks really bad-tempered or like one of those close-ups of spider faces. :o
-
Probably before 2010, Chris.
She was given it by Paddy Ryan, whoever he is, as Ketton and now sells it as 'Paddys Ketton'

Paddy Ryan was a member of the Cleveland AGS group, but was a visitor to the North East AGS/SRGC group, which is where I met him.
I only knew him in passing, but that didn't make any difference to Paddy - a lovely man.

Welcome to the forum Jen. It is always lovely to hear from plants people who have met really nice gardening chums. 8)
I've been meeting really friendly and generous 'plant growers' (99.97% of the time) since I first got serious about plants when I started by growing a packet of mixed cactus seeds in 1975
(I was going to say 'plantsmen' - but am not sure that is allowed in this age of political correctness! ::))
I look forward to your future posts (and as you might guess - everyone loves seeing photos of plants, gardens and gardeners if you have a camera ;D )
-
Thank you John.
I've been lurking and learning here for quite a while, and hope that in a few more years I may have something else to contribute!
No camera, though - sorry.

Meant to say hello before, Jen... but belatedly, Welcome!
The late Paddy Ryan was one of nature's gentleman. A regular visitor to SRGC Discussion Weekends and to Scotland for wee holidays... he was a dear, kind person and is very fondly remembered and much missed.
used to have great fun as he advised me on my chesty cough.... which the late Jack Brownless was always very keen to treat with Oil of Olbas...... dear me, we had such laughs, but those fellows were serious about their plants and were generous in their knowledge.

Many people were asking about this snowdrop at the Gala. Some has printed the photo to show to others. No one I asked knows what/who it is
