Maggie from what i have read Etta has a long battle with drugs as well.I agree Alberto she sung like an angel a on earth and brought alot of enjoyment my to my life
I do think you can hear her influence in Paloma Faiths sound.

In my view you can't beat the American songbook: Berlin, Porter, Green, Adair, Dennis, Gordon, Arlen, van Heusen, Warren, Gershwin, Rodgers, Hart, the great Sammy Cahn, Styne etc etc. Yup they don't make them like that these days......

Thanks, John. At least she achieved mass recognition with "At Last". There is a number of performances in YouTube.
