I am glad, that I am among you. Thank you for wonderful forum.
Also I am interested in above all rocky gardens. This is "never completed story".

You have created a beautiful and developing garden Zvone.
Slovenia is a magnificent country to visit and Lake Bled and Lake Bohinj are among our favourite places.  You are obviously taking inspiration from your surroundings.

Yes! Try 'to imitate' nature. And Slovene mountains are truly exceptional opportunity.
Bled, Bohinj, July Alps… many exceptional corners are in Slovenia generally.

Yeah, 200 km crashes round mountains with high-altitude difference approximately 8000 mV up and right this much down ( 46 hours NON FOOTHOLD- without stopping) is not light. But you see many exceptional beauties within this time ( of rocks, of trees, of flowers...) , and you forget tiredness simply. Trekk is my second low.

Yeah, Slovene mountains ( on southern page of Alps) are really wonderful (recommend visit) . Therefore I try to install part of this beautiful nature also into my garden.

Yes, that's lots of snow! I have some bare places and some places snow to the knees still, and where we shovelled it, still one or two metres deep!

I haven't even got full leaves on my waterlilies yet this year.  :'( Wonderful to see these beauties, and those of "kindredspiritkevin" in Ireland, in  thewildlife thread.... I am most envious :-X

You have seen my project Zvone The name is "Germinations Project" . I would make germination of Alpines for an educative action (in School).

I search donator for only some seed of Alpine .

For personnal, i would have sympatic contact with formumist for exchange cultural information and perhaps some seed or plants.

I have not the chance to live in Alpine region..it's only for the Holidays for trekking and take some photos  :'(

They"re good for cooking..it's Boletus edulis ?

Your picture is a sedum( Sedum acre   ???)  , not a saxifraga species  ;D.

I have this plant in my garden,  this plant grow in my area (and in Alpes too).

I have sedum reflexum  too and some others but not many species.

Depending on depth of water and, if it is present tributary of water. I have deep water enough and tributary of water is permanent.
 Also when lake freezes, fish are safe.

I tried for many years to keep koi outside but failed miserably. They were never happy. My pond was about 4ft deep. I now keep my koi in a depth of 6ft in a polytunnel and I also heat the water. 
Now my next challenge is to grow water lilies as beautiful as you have, Been trying to do this for twenty years and haven't had much success and time will soon be running out  ;D.
Can you tell me how deep your water is and how long a period of winter weather that you have.
Really nice pictures of your garden and its plants.

Winter takes since November in our country by March. There are lowest temperatures in February (to - 16 st. C).
 Small lake freezes on entire surface then (ice is trunks towards 3 cm). This occurs every year. I had no problem with fish because of this so far. It is key round me, that it is present permanent tributary (and drain) freshly water.
 
My small lake:

maximum depth:1.4 m
mass of water:60 m3
 natural tributary of water:80 litres/ of the hours

I think keeping koi in good health is all to do with water conditions and what a bonus having running water through your pond this will keep your koi very happy. I love the snowy picture of your pond. I would love to show this picture to my koi club members if that was all right with you.

This winter we hope to get a lot of the trees around our pond cut down to let in more sun  - in the hope of more  waterlily flowers again.
