Worrying news, isn't it? I have no idea how they cope with the ongoing fear, never mind the practicalities.

Reports to date are that damage is minimal and no lives lost so we can hope for the best. Bet if was a big fright for people though, brought back bad memories etc.

MY most recent new vendor relocated from Christchurch a few months ago, most of her family having gone to Australia but her parents are still there. She couldn't contain her tears yesterday and should have stayed away I think. She says it's like a new death happening every day and the fear is contant. So many people have, with this latest bout, declared it is just too much and will leave Christchurch for good now. A great shame but their nerves and very sanity can surely take only so much.

How sad for her Lesley and quite understandable. There is only so much most folks can take. Those sticking it out will be tough cookies indeed. I feel for them, whatever they decide to do. :-\
