If I am not too late---can anyone please send me seed of this species?
Happy to exchange generously.

Kristel,
have this species in the garden. But I think it is to late. Today we have the first snow. Don't know if Philadelphus hybridized! Because I have ten different species in the garden. So I'm not certain that from the seed the plant comes true.

Uli,
Thank you for responding.
If I remember, I will ask again earlier next year---I know Philadelphus collection is often late, but I suspected it might be too late.
I am still collecting seed from some very late woody species at my end (Callicarpa, Pieris, some Rhododendron).

Uli,
I just received an offer of seed from a friend down under (his plants are flowering right now) seed derived from the Goteborg.
Pictures of his plants do not exhibit the pronounced purple calyx---I am sure there is natural variation but he queried whether this might happen due to the mild weather. My instinct is "no".
I wonder if you could post a picture of your specimen, showing the purple calyx, if you have one?
Would you say that his plants, as posted here are the correct species?
Thank You,
Kristl

I just saw the last picture posted by our Tony Willis somewhere on line.
A really good specimen.

Kristel.
Post 3 is in my opinion not the right species. Post 4 is the correct species. My plant is from a natural source. I friend of mine collected it 10 years ago. I look for pictures from my species, when I answered your question. But I don't find the pictures.
