Looks familiar Wim  ,see that one somewhere ...
Here Colchicum brachyphyllum is flowering already. More then 2 months earlier then normal . This mean it flowers two time in the same year ...

Chris, Wim and Hagen - thanks a lot for your comments! Those are easy plants here, one prepared the site they do not cause any work and can be left alone for many years (if you control the weeds). Other, like for example C. hungaricum does not like my garden...

Danke Hagen, das freut mich natürlich!

Lovely plant, do you know its origing?

C. brchyphyllum is now a Synonym of C. szoitzii subsp brachyphyllum, which blooms in the Eastern Mediterranean from Mid October to December.

Thank you Oron ! This a form also known as brachyphyllum "OS1030" . Karin Persson write that this is a collection made by Sonderhousen but I could not find from where this collection was. Maybe Turkey ?
Ofcourse they changed it in szovitsii   subsp. brachyphyllum . Thank you for attending me ! Usually it flowers here in january but as I see now it could flower earlier . I like this species because it is a rich flowering species and it flowers in a period  when we could use some extra flowers .
