Does anyone recongnize this shrub from c.w. Taiwanese seed? Note the notched leaf tips. It was received in a package of 2 shrubs, both were labelled Photinia but this one is clearly no Photinia.

Yes Uli the leaves are opposite and the plant is about 75cm tall in 2 years from seed. Stiffly upright and mostly evergreen. On the shrub there are a very few atypical leaves as shown in pic #2.
It came with Photinia niitakayamensis so may have been collected in the same area and altitude. Pic #1.

John no idea :'(
Never see a shrub with these leaves. Have look for a address in Taiwan, but can't find it.
Maybe someone has a address from Taiwan, where you can send the pictures.

you may wish to try and key out using the digital flora of Taiwan
http://tai2.ntu.edu.tw/ebook/ebookcontent.php?book=Fl.%20Taiwan%202nd%20edit.&volume=2 (http://tai2.ntu.edu.tw/ebook/ebookcontent.php?book=Fl.%20Taiwan%202nd%20edit.&volume=2)
The flora also contains thousands of photographs as well as complete descriptions and illustrations.
It is a truly superb resource (but perhaps more handy in book format)
