Title: Can't find small turnbuckles / wire strainers
Post by: mark smyth on October 05, 2011, 08:57:48 PM
A few weeks ago my rose and trellis came off the wall during high wind. I want to put the rose back up but instead of using a trellis I want to use wire rope held in place with turnbuckles / wire strainers. All I can find are large ones that are around 15cm long when closed.

Have you used them? Where did you buy them?

Try a shop where they sell boat equipment.

Hi Mark,

I use the Gripple system, very neat and easy to apply. see here (http://www.harrodhorticultural.com/HarrodSite/product/Plant%20Supports_Plant%20support%20frames/GDN-898.htm).

There are other suppliers. The Gripple system comes in a horticultural version (plastic) and industrial version (steel).
