Hi Mark

I have something which is looking really close to your plant, and which is called by me LUZULA ulophylla ( from New Zealand).
Flowering spike is about 20/25 high, almost dark brown/black, and leaves dark green with white hairs on it.
But there is enough place in the "grasses" world for mistakes or misidentifications

Merci beaucoup, Philippe

Another plant to look for to plant in a trough.

I could send you some seeds, but unfortunately not this year anymore, as I have already sown it for own plant stock increase. It is germinating very well, right now, only a few weeks after sowing.
Surely a plant to look for, somehow "particular" amongst the genus luzula ( beautiful I mean), but perhaps also a plant not to forget too long, as germination rate and speed could make it become quite "wild" in the garden/trough?
But I don't know really for the moment, I only planted it last spring.
Remember me to send you seed next year Mark, if I forget it until there!

I am sure, that this grass is really Luzula ulophylla, my plants are from NZ seeds. It is one of my
favourite grasses for the rockgarden, quite small, never invasive and good to propagate. In my
experience it only dislikes too hot and sunny positions.
