My Iris foetidissima has yellowish spots on some leaves. Could it be a virus?

Hans  - Mine is viral and is streaked rather than spotted.  It lives on but is decidedly tired.  It caught it from the variegated form which quickly died.

johnw - another week of rain ahead.

Hans, looks more like rust. Do you fertilize with high nitrogen or manure?

Alberto, this plant has not been fertilized very much. So excess nitrogen is not likely. If it is a rust, then I should see sporangia after some time. I'll keep an eye on the plant...

Hans, if you gently rub a piece of toilet paper along the leaf and an orange trace is left, you have it.

Alberto, no orange stuff, but if it is a fungus, It may not yet be developping spores. I'll check if it develops later. Thanks for the suggestion :)
